It was confirmed on the 12th that Thailand was included in the list of countries subject to 'entry without quarantine', which is scheduled to be implemented for those who have been vaccinated against the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) from the 1st of next month.
Earlier, Prime Minister Prayut Chanocha said in a televised speech the day before, "I urge the Corona 19 Situation Management Center (CCSA) and the Ministry of Health to urgently consider allowing entry into the country without quarantine for those who have been vaccinated against COVID-19 from the 1st of next month. instructed," he said.
At least 10 countries with low risk of COVID-19, including the United States, China, the United Kingdom, Germany and Singapore, will be targeted.
However, Korea was not mentioned in the speech.
In this regard, an official from the Korean embassy in Thailand said in a phone call with Yonhap News on the same day, "I immediately confirmed that Korea was included in the list of 'at least 10 low-risk countries' mentioned by Prime Minister Prayut."
The official added, "However, as the Prime Minister mentioned, the final decision on the CCSA must be made, but at least 10 low-risk countries, including South Korea, will be allowed to enter the country without quarantine."
