국제시인협협회((International Society of Poets) 선정 명시

다음의 영시는 필자가 영국에서 영국외무성박사과정 장학생으로 HULL대학정치학과에서 박사논문을 쓰면서 매우 힘들고 고단한 과정 중에 지은 영시 중의 하나입니다. 1996년 영국의 Kent에 소재한 국제시인협회(ISP)가 선정한 명시로, 시인 명예의 전당International (Hall of Fame)에 등록되고 1996년에 발간된 Voices of Wind라는 국제시인협회발간 시집 215page에 수록된 필자가 지금도 매우 아끼는 영시입니다.

By the Name of Hope and Love

Messages of solitude overwhelm me from winter trees

Sometimes by dreams, sometimes by despair and uncertainty

I continue to travel the road of solitude and dream

As has been the turbulent history of mankind

Messages of challenges capture me from the dawning

Sometimes by expectation, sometimes by stark reality

I continue a long march of life by the name of solitude

As has been the life of a Saint

Messages of hope come from my deep heart

Sometimes by dream, sometimes by fear

I continue the long journey of challenges by the name of hope

As has been the dream of an ambitious boy

Messages of hope come from my deep heart

Sometimes by dream, sometimes by energy and spirit

I continue to walk in the darkness by the name of love

As has been the life of Jesus Christ
